IRF Fact Sheet

The big picture: Beginning Oct. 1, skilled nursing facilities will see a 4.2% pay increase, slightly higher than the 4.1% included in the proposed rule the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued earlier this year. In other provisions of the rule, SNFs will be subject to greater accountability and will see changes to the Quality Reporting Program.

Inpatient rehab facilities will receive a 3% increase, up from the proposed 2.8%. Other than that, there were only a few minor changes to IRF quality reporting.
