The Message
Authors of a new systematic review call it a "disconnect": Despite multiple solid oncology guidelines available that clearly support rehabilitation as an important element of care for people with many types of cancer, only a small percentage of those who experience impairments are referred for rehabilitative services. With the evidence base so well-established, they write, now's the time to correct course — and that correction must involve therapists as well as oncology providers and administrative stakeholders.
